Our Process

Step One

- Evaluation & Consultation

Artistic Concrete Finishes will evaluate the concrete to be resurfaced for soundness.  Then we will consult with you to determine the type, color and design that will best suit your location and needs.

Step Two

- Crack Repair

All existing cracks are ground out, filled and sealed with a tough, weather resistant epoxy or hybrid urethane that forms a durable bond to the surrounding concrete.

Step Three

- Cleaning

The existing concrete surface is cleaned of dirt and stains, including oil, paint and mastic (glue) to insure the long term adhesion of the new coatings.  This is done by pressure washing or completely grinding off the top most layer of the old concrete.  This is a process known as abrading or "scarifying."

Step Four

- Color & Design

The concrete is then sealed and coated with weather, chemical and stain resistant acrylics or epoxies.  This will be the colors and/or designs of your choice.  Your concrete can be made to look like brick, slate, stone, colored with a flake application, acid stained (which is not a coating) or any other design of your choice.  The possibilities are endless!

Step Five

- Sealing

The total surface is then coated with a clear sealant to further protect and beautify your location.  The number of sealant coats being applied will be determined by the products being used and location of the installation.
